Pools built, renovated and looked after.

At Sychron Pools we build new pools, renovate and alter existing ones, and keep them running. Below are the kinds of pools we build, and everything else we do around them.

The right pool for your ground, not the other way round.

Every site is different: slope, access, drainage, soil and how much sun the water will get. We look at all of it before recommending a shell and a finish, because the cheapest pool to build is rarely the cheapest pool to own.

We work in gunite, fibreglass lining and marbelite, and we handle the surrounds too — coping, paving, decking and the equipment. One team, one point of contact.

Pool types

Gunite, fibreglass or marbelite.

Three ways to build or finish a pool — each with its own strengths.

Gunite shell, ready for finishing

Gunite pools

The word “gunite” refers to the process: concrete is sprayed onto a steel-reinforced shell instead of being poured. That lets us shape steps, benches, ledges and curves to suit the garden — the most flexible option for a difficult site.

  • Any shape or depth
  • Built on site, fits awkward access
  • Finished in marbelite or mosaic

Fibreglass lining

The main structure of a fibreglass pool is a single, one-piece shell made entirely of fibreglass. It is smooth, hard-wearing and quick to install — and it is also how we give an old marble pool a brand-new skin.

  • Smooth, non-porous finish
  • Lining for existing pools
  • Fast turnaround

Marbelite

Marbelite is a coloured marble plaster with a cement base, used to coat concrete or gunite pool surfaces. It comes in several colours — and it is the finish we use most when a pool is being re-plastered.

  • A range of colours
  • Ideal for re-plastering
  • Mosaic detail to match

Everything else

The work around the water.

Equipment, tiling, paving and the repairs that keep a pool usable all summer.

Pump & filter installation

Supply, install and replace pumps, filters and pipework — with a walk-through of how to run the system.

Coping around the pool

Cement, tile or stone coping laid level and flush, with expansion joints done properly.

Salt water chlorination

Chlorinator fitted and set up so the water stays balanced with far less day-to-day work.

Mosaic installation

Waterline bands, feature walls and step details, hand-set and grouted to last.

Pool reconstruction

Cracked shells, failed plaster and structural repairs — rebuilt, not patched over.

Leak detection & repair

Pressure testing to find the leak, then the repair — including lifting and re-laying paving above the pipe.

Cleaning & maintenance

Green water brought back to blue, plus regular servicing for homes, blocks of flats and B&Bs.

Paving & decking

Pool surrounds, braai areas and garages paved or decked to finish the job off.

Service 02

Renovations & relining

An old pool that leaks, stains or looks tired does not need to be demolished. We re-marbelite, re-tile and re-line pools — including converting a marble pool to fibreglass.

  • Fibreglass lining
  • Mosaic and waterline tiling
  • Crack repairs and pool reconstruction

How it goes

Four steps, start to finish.

  1. Visit & measure

We come to you, look at the ground, the access and the drainage, and listen to how you want to use the pool. No charge, no obligation.

  2. Quote in writing

A clear, itemised quote covering excavation, shell, finishes, plumbing and equipment — so you know what you are paying for.

  3. Build & keep you posted

One team on site, from the first trench to the last coping tile. You get progress updates and a clean site at the end of each day.

  4. Handover & aftercare

We start the pool up, show you how to run the pump and filter, and stay contactable for balances, leaks and anything that needs a second look.

Questions

The things people ask us first.

Do you charge for a site visit or a quote?

No. Consultations and written quotes are free, and you are under no obligation. We would rather walk the site with you than guess at a price.

Which areas do you work in?

We are based in Hout Bay and work across the Western Cape — including Constantia, Camps Bay, Bishopscourt, Blouberg, Parklands, Pinelands, Tokai, Claremont, Kuils River, Brackenfell and Zevenwacht.

What kinds of pools do you build?

Gunite (sprayed concrete) pools, fibreglass-lined pools and marbelite-finished pools. The right one depends on your ground, access and budget, and we will tell you honestly which suits your site.

Can you fix a pool that is leaking?

Yes. A leak is found by pressure-testing the pipework and inspecting the shell and fittings, then repaired — including lifting and re-laying paving where the pipe runs underneath.

Do you supply and install pumps and filters?

Yes. We install and replace pumps, filters, salt water chlorinators and pipework, and we will explain how to run the system before we leave.

Can you take on a renovation only — not a full build?

Absolutely. Many of our jobs are once-off repairs, re-marbelites, re-tiling and pump replacements for pools that were built by someone else.

How do I get hold of you fastest?

WhatsApp or call 073 710 8828. You can also e-mail zvina@sychronpools.co.za, or send the enquiry form on our contact page.
